Someone sent me a 3/4th full bottle of DarkCandles.com's simmering oil; I've never tried their products before, so it was kind of a surprise.
The simmering oils come in 1oz bottles, with an eyedropper cap. They run about $4.99, which isn't too bad, but then I don't really know much about simmering oils to begin with.
The scent I received was "Lilith", part of their "Vampire Collection". The scent description on the site is: "Very carnal, feminine, and sexy. Based with succulent raspberry and a deep natural patchouli."
Normally I have to be wary of patchouli, but I was pleasantly surprised with this scent. I love raspberry, and it's not an over-powering raspberry. It mixes nicely with the patchoili, making this kind of sweet and sour scent.
I put maybe five or six half-full squeezes from the eyedropper into my tart burner (it's metal, with a candle underneath, so I figured it'd work) and it was just enough to cover the bottom of the metal pan. I've let it go for a little over an hour now and it's filled my condo completely.
The oil hasn't burned smoky at all (I'm just now noticing some, but it's burned down some) and it's an even distribution in the scent.
I might actually look into buying more, now that I've tried it!
